Bees a buzzin....Mason Bees are Here!

         Greetings Gardeners!

We have finally finished with the nursery cleanup!  Each year our team spends weeks working out in the nursery feeding, pruning and cleaning.  It's a good thing we LOVE plants!  The process seems to go on forever.  Now that we are stocked and ready for spring we can receive our giant truck of new trees and shrubs.  That will arrive this Friday and I am so excited to see some of the new shrubs that have been introduced this season.

Right now we have a great selection of spring bloomin perennials, hellebores, peonies, pansies, and cool-season veggies.  There are some really incredible new peonies that we have never had before....I know I will be adding one to my garden!  As usual, we have everything you need to succeed in your flower and veggie garden!  We are excited for this amazing spring weather and cannot wait to visit with you.

Mason Bees are here!  If your needing pollinators for your home orchard, these guys are for you!  See our article at the end of this email for details about how and why we should have our own Mason Bees!

Some upcoming important events!  The Lassen County Home & Garden Show is Saturday, April 26th at the Fairgrounds (see below), our Chester Shop opens Saturday, May 10th, and our Mother's Day Muffins & Mimosa's (both shops) is on for Sunday, May 11th.  Hope to see you in the garden!

Happy Gardening,

Melissa

Garden To-Do List:

Tired of pulling weeds all summer? Time to mulch. Using a good mulch not only protects your plants against heat stress during the coming warm months, but limits the ability of weed seeds to take hold. A simple layer of 2-3 inches of mulch applied to your gardens will save you around 30% watering.  Plus, it looks great!  We recommend Gromulch for both planting your trees, shrubs and perennials and also the all important mulching.....
